Gather in Oakland’s Black Arts District at 12:30 pm for the 1st annual Black Joy Parade – a hyper-positive procession showcasing the undeniable energy, creativity and excellence of the African American community and its influence on cultures past, present and future.

The parade procession will be made up of several Black dance troupes, a New Orleans style second line, faith-based choirs, Black Greek steppers, two Black motorcycle crews, the famous Skraper Bikes and more.

The parade celebration will feature the Grammy-nominated artist Jidenna, SOL Development, The Seshen, poets, and additional performances.

The Black Joy Parade celebration will also feature:

  • Black-owned arts and crafts vendors
  • Kids Skateboard Contest
  • Walk-up Dominos Tournament
  • Black Vines, a Black-owned wine collective
