Friday, October 13th at 7 pm – Handsome Ladies Variety Show – SoMa StrEat Food Park
Tonight we celebrate women songwriters and/or songs made famous by women performed by a variety of singers and musicians backed by The Picks, a Handsome Ladies pick-up band. Featuring Bay Area local legends and talents Mary Gibbons (guitar), Martha Hawthorne (bass), Amy Scher (fiddle), Hailey Pexton (mandolin) and The Handsome Ladies’ own, Yennie Brecheisen (banjo), the evening is sure to be one for the ages.

Saturday, October 14th at 1 pm – Bluegrass Under the Sun – Jane Warner Plaza (Castro)
Bluegrass under the sun in the heart of the Castro at the Jane Warner Plaza, where Castro, Market and 17th streets all come together. This will be an open jam hosted by the Beauty Operators String Band who were born out of San Francisco’s bluegrass jam scene. On the streets and in the clubs of San Francisco, they’re known for their bluegrass, weird-grass, punk-grass, cry-in-your-beer grass, and 80s cover-grass.

Sunday, October 15th at Noon – “Strictly Bluegrass” in the Park – McLaren Park
Grammy award winner, Hardly Strictly veteran, local treasure, and pioneering woman in bluegrass, Laurie Lewis, headlines! She is joined by the Crooked Jades who push the boundaries and blur the lines of old-time music, Rusty Stringfield, fresh off the Strawberry Music and Redwood Ramble festivals, lovable local troublemakers, the Beauty Operators, and AJ Lee & Blue Summit were recently featured in the Chronicle and played on the Bluegrass Pride float.
