Thomas Peele reads and discusses Killing the Messenger: A Story of Radical Faith, Racism’s Backlash, and the Assassination of a Journalist, the mesmerizing story of how charlatans exploited the tragedy of racism and created a radical religion of bloodshed and fear that culminated in the murder of Oakland Post newspaper editor Chauncey Bailey.

Peele’s writing is captivating, and the story so layered and disturbing. Definitely a must read if you live in the Bay Area.
