Event Details

Join Issues for a book reading by Jesse Michaels reading from his debut novel Whispering Bodies.

Jesse Michaels is a Bay Area native author who is most well known around town as being the lead singer for the late eighties punk band Operation Ivy.

Since that time, he has developed a fiction writing practice which has culminated in the release of his first novel, Whispering Bodies. An absurdist take on the mystery genre,Whispering Bodies features the reclusive and paranoid Roy Belkin, an unlikely sleuth who does most of his detection between bouts of agoraphobia and general misanthropy. Whispering Bodies is a formidable comic novel which recalls Fante, Toole and Celine without being quite like any of them.
