Event Details

What are NFTs? How can new and emerging artists use this technology? What new art marketplaces can be used to promote NFT art?

The art and tech worlds have been rocked by the new popularity of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), but too many artists have been left on the sidelines. The “Breaking Into NFTs” workshop hopes to illuminate the world of NFTs for new and established artists, helping artists unlock the possibilities of NFT artwork. In discussions led by artist and educator Roya Ebtehaj and software engineer Marco Primi, participants will learn about NFTs and the new technology’s opportunities and limitations, exploring questions such as:

What are NFTs and blockchain technology?
How do I make NFT art?
What are NFT marketplaces, and how can I use them to sell my art?
What are some of the benefits and limitations of NFT art?
What are some myths and falsehoods about NFTs?
What are the environmental impacts of NFTs and blockchain technology?

Join Roya and Marco as they discuss all these questions and more, bringing together perspectives and expertise from the worlds of tech and art. The free online workshop will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 6:00pm PST, with discussions led by Roya and Marco followed by a Q&A session.
