McLaren Park | McLaren Park, San Francisco, CA
Submitted by the Event Organizer
Come help Volunteers for Outdoor California create a trail that will connect the Visitacion neighborhood in San Francisco to McLaren Park in order to keep walkers off of busy streets. It is a weekend long project, from August 22-24 and gives people a unique opportunity to camp at McLaren Park, the second largest park in San Francisco, both Friday and Saturday nights, for free. You can come help for an afternoon, a whole day, or the entire weekend.
Free to join, but registration is required.
Food will be provided for volunteers from Saturday breakfast through lunch on Sunday. Other exciting and unique aspects to this project include a film crew that will be coming out to film the weekends work and festivities along with several music groups performing Saturday night after the work day.
The actual work hours take place on Saturday from 8 am-3:30 pm and on Sunday from 8:30 am-1:30 pm, with breaks each day, as needed, and for lunch. Work can be done out on the trail or back at camp – all help is appreciated. Children 14 and over are welcome and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no previous experience necessary.
