Freespace Pop-Up Community Center
Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.
Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.
Channel your inner child, get silly and build a cardboard avatar of your grandma, your spirit animal, a T-Rex, or butterfly; they won’t judge at Freespace.
Plus build a fort to protect it, then battle with other warriors until the last avatar stands.
Please bring:
- A good attitude
- Cardboard
- Friends
