You are invited to a four day carnivale in San Francisco, beginning on the death day of pataphysics creator Alfred Jarry and featuring the launch of a new book on pataphysics from November 1-4, 2012.
Pataphysics is a philosophy created by French writer Alfred Jarry who defined ‘pataphysics as “the science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically attributes the properties of objects, described by their virtuality, to their lineaments.”
The Night of the Dancing Toothpicks is an evening of readings, manifestos, performances, events, happenings, and surprises.
Hosted by Peter Maravelis and featuring: Mel Gordon, Andrew Hugill, Michael McClure, Line McMurray, Howard Rheingold, Neil Salley, Linda Klieger Stillman, Robin Walz, and special guests.
A scale model of Alfred Jarry’s Time Machine shall be unveiled and demonstrated for the first time ever and there will be a world’s first showing of the Pataphysical Slot Machine created by Howard Rheingold, Fabrice Florin, and others.
