A music performance focused on sound, made any way possible: that’s what the FREE Fall Concert from Standford University’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics offers.
This is Cagean-style Musicircus with live-electronics, analog synths, beat-oriented live sets, sound installations, iPads, iPhones, elevator music, broken pianos, video and tape pieces…
Cagean performance is so named after John Cale a pioneer of non-standard use of musical instruments who also made in the 1950s music using household object like a water pitcher, tape recorder, vase, duck calls.
This event is preceded by a performance of the Mobile Phone Orchestra at 7 pm.
