Event Details

Join the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy on Saturday, April 24, for Spring in Guadalupe Gardens. In its 16th year, the event will celebrate Guadalupe Gardens, Earth Day and the Great Outdoors from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Visitor & Education Center, 438 Coleman Ave., San Jose.

Spring in Guadalupe Gardens is timed to showcase the Heritage Rose Garden in peak bloom. The Heritage Rose Garden is the largest public garden in the United States dedicated to the preservation of old roses and is maintained by volunteers. The Heritage Rose Garden contains the largest variety of roses in any public garden in the western hemisphere.

Entertainment and hands-on activities for all ages will be featured throughout the day including sales of unusual plants, workshops and lectures, fun kids activities, music and health resources. Gardeners will have a field day with specialty nurseries and garden clubs and the opportunity to get free expert gardening advice. There will be garden tours and trail walks, and other activities to encourage families to explore more of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens.

EarthCare Recycling will host a free electronic waste drop off in front of the Visitor & Education Center with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy.

Admission and parking are free. More information on Spring in Guadalupe Gardens is available at www.grpg.org or 408-298-7657.
