Event Details

Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot close-up (macro) photography but don’t have a fancy camera? On August 17th from 6-8pm Damon Tighe, a local macro photographer, will be running a workshop at the Rotary Nature Center in Oakland on how to use your cell phone’s camera and some relatively inexpensive lenses to do amazing macro photography of insects.

You will cover how to find subjects, how to get the sharpest image possible and some tips and tricks around lighting subjects. This is a hands on workshop with most of the time spent outside photographing the small organisms we can find. Macro lenses can be rented during the workshop or purchased for $10.

This is a free event with a $20 suggested donation.
