Friday, September 28th, 2012 kicks off the festival with multiple dynamic performances. Craft vendors and interactive art making can be found in the alleys just off 6th St. Musicians, comedians and dancers sponsored by the San Francisco Arts Commission will welcome event-goers to 2 Blocks of Art as they perform on Market Street between 5th & 7th. Food and drink specials will be at restaurants, bars and nightclubs along the walk.
8pm | Mint Plaza: Mother Tongue by project agora – a dance, music and visual art performance, that unites international artists from different artistic mediums to explore and evoke new ways of seeing, creating, and experiencing “conversations” between performers.
8:30-9pm & 9:30-10pm | 7th St.@ Market, west wall of Renoir Hotel: Niagara Falling by Flyaway Productions and Dancers’ Group/ONSITE – a multimedia dance event by choreographer Jo Kreiter and video artists David and Hi-Jin Hodge.
