Event Details

Child Advocates of Silicon Valley strives to ensure every foster child in Silicon Valley has the nurturing support and resources needed to thrive. Child Advocates serves children ages birth to 21 years old, who are placed in the Santa Clara County Dependency Court System (commonly referred to as foster care) for having experienced abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. They serve children in foster care by ensuring every child has a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer, building enduring community partnerships to broaden and strengthen their impact and influencing local policies and decisions that affect the children they serve.

CASA Volunteers are community members appointed by a judge and supported by Child Advocates to be a mentor, advocate and voice for a child in foster care. CASA Volunteers help children in foster care overcome the effects of trauma, which can completely alter the life trajectory of a child.

Child Advocates depend on individual, corporate, community, foundation and government partners to make their work possible. Consider becoming an Advocate for foster children by donating, volunteering or sponsoring an event.
