The California Historical Society invites you to celebrate all things California – and Cinco de Mayo.

Cinco de Mayo, the celebration of Mexico’s victory over invading French troops in 1862, is an important observance that reflects the changes and developments in Latino communities throughout California and has been celebrated in the state continuously since 1863. Connect, learn, and discuss the future of the great state of California, all while listening to a live DJ and enjoying complimentary Cinco de Mayo refreshments.

What: California Nights – Cinco de Mayo
An open house celebrating all things California – and Cinco de Mayo with live DJ and complimentary refreshments; includes free admission to Think California – CHS’s current exhibition exploring the colorful history of California through the Historical Society’s remarkable collection of artwork, artifacts, and ephemera.

When: 6pm—8pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2010
