2017 California Coastal Cleanup Day: How to Sign Up

Help keep San Francisco’s stretch of the coastline clean at the 2017 California Coastal Cleanup Day on the third Saturday of September.

Cleanup and restoration activities will be happening in San Francisco, Marin, and Pacifica, including China Beach, Marin County, Fort Funston, San Francisco, Baker Beach, Lands End, Ocean Beach, Presidio of San Francisco, San Mateo County, and Crissy Field.

How to Get Started

1. Choose a Site and Register. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

  • Individuals, families, and small groups: register online below.
  • Groups of 20 or more volunteers: please call (415) 561-3077 or email volunteer@parksconservancy.org to register.

2. Cleanup Sites: View map or choose by location below.

3. On Saturday, 9/16 at 9 am, arrive at the cleanup site with:

  • Youth Volunteers (18 and under) – Bring a parent signed waiver: English waiver (PDF) | Spanish waiver (PDF).
  • Proper clothingclosed-toe shoes (no sandals), sunscreen, hat, and layers.
  • Your own reusable supplies. Limit waste by bringing your own bag or bucket, gloves, and water bottle if you have them. Conserve–B.Y.O. this year

We need more people here! Nearly 80% of the trash we collect in San Francisco comes from the East side. Contact: San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
