Cultural block party & free admission to Asian Art Museum

The annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration is a massive block party and street fair held in Civic Center stretching from the Asian Art Museum up to Little Saigon with a cultural fashion parade, kung fu demos and free admission to the Asian Art Museum.

In 2014, the celebration will be showcasing the Tastes of Asia – everything from ingredients, to preparation, to eating and enjoying, and any way food interacts with Asian culture with celebrity cooking demos, Asian food vendors and popular food trucks with flavors from all over Asia.

2014 Festival Highlights:

  • Thai Monk Blessing – 10:30 am | Thai monks from the Wat Buddhapradeep in San Bruno will perform a blessing to kick off festivities. | Civic Center Stage
  • Faces of Asia Cultural Procession – 11 am | A dazzling display of ethnic attire organized by Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center. | Begins at the Civic Center Stage and ends at the Community Stage on Golden Gate and Larkin Streets
  • Arts and Crafts World Market – 11 am to 6 pm | Creative and high-end arts and crafts | Larkin and Golden Gate Streets
  • Cooking Demos – 11:30 am to 3:00 pm | Learn how to cook delicious Asian dishes from E&O Asian Kitchen, ICHI Sushi + NI Bar, M.Y. China, the Clift Hotel and more | Cooking Demo Stage at Larkin and Ellis Streets
  • Asian Art Museum Free Day – 11 am to 4 pm | Indian dance demonstrations, art making, gallery tours, Southeast Asian dance and music performances
