“Bach to the Future” with the Awesöme Orchestra

The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship.

On March 9th the collective joins together for the ultimate time-traveling music mashup – Bach, Burt Bacharach and the soundtrack to Back to the Future.

FREE to watch (space permitting), FREE to play.

Venue is directly above Ashby BART, with its own large, free parking lot. They’ll be playing in the main lobby.

The program for this session is as follows:

  • J.S. Bach – Prelude from Partita No. 3 in E Major BWV 1006 (arr. for full orchestra by Tonu Kalam)
  • Burt Bacharach – Promises, Promises (selections from Jonathan Tunick’s original full orchestrations featuring cast members of the recent San Francisco Playhouse production!)
  • Alan Silvestri – Suite from Back to the Future Trilogy (full orchestra)

To participate as a musician, you must sign up with your instrument on this Google Form.  Check out sheet music and reference recordings for all pieces on Google Drive. Then all you have to do is bring a music stand. We’ll have chairs, sheet music and free drinks for all players.
