Thanks to the SF Chronicle for letting us know that Hal Wilkes, a member of the Irish Pipers Band who headed onto his Castro rooftop every night at sundown and played the bagpipes to entertain his neighbors, has finally said farewell.

He begin the practice on March 17th, playing from his rooftop near Sanchez and 18th, as a way of connecting with his neighbors during the height of the stay-at-home order.
