Thanks to KRON4 for sharing the news that there’s another attempt to try to allow bars to stay open until 4 a.m. in seven California cities (including San Francisco and Oakland) to try to help bars become more profitable.
The legislation, introduced by California State Senator Scott Wiener, would extend open hours past the statewide closing time of 2 a.m. as part of a pilot program.
Similar bills were defeated back in 2018 and 2019.
The pilot cities are: San Francisco, Oakland, West Hollywood, Palm Springs, Fresno, Coachella & Cathedral City. Each of the cities has requested over time to be included.
