“Bastille on Belden” Returns for First Time in 8 Years

After a long break, San Francisco seems to be trying to claim back the title of “The Paris of the West.” Back in the 90s and 00s, French restaurant Cafe Bastille hosted a rollicking Bastille Day celebration crammed into downtown’s narrow Belden Place. After an eight year hiatus, the block party is finally back with a tamer (but still delicious) soiree planned. Don a complimentary beret, listen to live classic accordion music and come famished for a special night of French-themed dishes from six restaurants including Corsican Braised Mutton from Toy Soldier, Coq au Vin from Cafe Bastille and mussels at Sam’s Grill.

No need to lose your head! After an eight-year hiatus, Bastille Day celebrations are back on Belden Place.

Once the home of Frenchmen seeking riches during the Gold Rush, Belden Place now offers something even more treasured in today’s world: a quaint European escape in the bustling downtown San Francisco, the perfect way to celebrate on July 14!

Let the classic accordion music of Vintage Jukebox, French-inspired dishes served by the restaurants of Belden Place, and complimentary berets provided by Downtown SF remind you why San Francisco was once called the Paris of the West.

Make reservations for Bastille Day at one of Belden Place’s participating restaurants today.
