Bay Area’s “Soul Stroll” Returns for 2023 (May 20)

The Bay Area Community Health Advisory Council (BACHAC) is a grassroots community health organization focused on eliminating health disparities in underserved diverse communities across generations in San Mateo County. We are very excited about the return of Soul Stroll as an in person event and important fundraiser for BACHAC this year.

Our annual, signature event “Soul Stroll” will have activities in 2023 leading up to Soul Stroll weekend (May 19-20, 2023). On May 19, our VIP reception kicks off the weekend with special guests, ambassador meet and greet plus drinks and nibbles. Join the 250 Club to attend the VIP reception. May 20th’s main event, Soul Stroll, is treasured as a fun, family, friendly event encouraging community members to safely engage in physical activities including, walking, running, and biking with a resource marketplace of nonprofit organizations, businesses, volunteering and government groups all focused on health and wellness.

The event will be held at the beautiful Coyote Point Trailways and Recreation Area its new location at San Mateo High School.

Soul Stroll is a 1, 3, 5 Mile Run/Walk. The Soul Stroll health fair includes over 30 resources and corporate partners providing product, screenings and information.

Your ticket gives you access to the main event, a light breakfast, professionally led warm-up sessions, a healthy lunch, and the coveted Soul Stroll t-shirt!

BACHAC is excited to announce that this year’s theme is “Soul Stroll Outside.” Your support helps us to continue to provide critical health and wellness education, health screenings and advocacy to underserved communities.

This year’s Honorary Soul Stroll Ambassador is Femenista Jones – Author/Activist/Advocate. Feminista Jones is an intersectionality expert, public speaker, community activist and social worker. She is an award-winning writer and the author of the critically acclaimed Reclaiming Our Space: How Black Feminists Are Changing the World From the Tweets to the Streets (Beacon). Her work centers around queer identity, critical race theory, intersectionality, mental health and social work. She also teaches a course on the African American Queer Experience at Temple University. Read full bio.
