The California Academy of Sciences is a world-class scientific and cultural institution in Golden Gate Park, a 400,000 square foot structure that houses an aquarium, a planetarium a natural history museum and a four-story rainforest all under a living roof.

The Academy hosts four free days a year.

Hours: 11 am to 5 pm – Please note that final entry to the museum is one hour before closing. Hours may change seasonally, so always check calacademy.org/visit/ for the latest hours of operation.

Admission to the Academy is on a first-come, first-served basis, and early arrival is recommended due to the likelihood of high demand. Please note that some visitors may experience a wait at the front entrance during peak times, and final entry to the museum on free days is 5 pm.
