The newly renovated trail in the Oak Woodlands forest of Golden Gate Park will be dedicated in honor of Phil Arnold, a longtime advocate for parks, open space and recreational trail opportunities in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.

A career civil servant, Phil is also a member and chair of the Bay Ridge Trail that now connects Twin Peaks, Mount Sutro and the Oak Woodlands. The Recreation and Park Commission approved the naming in October 2018.
