Come help kick off 2013 with a procession that gives a taste of what the larger Lunar New Year parade will bring.

The mini parade begins at historic St. Mary’s Square, follows the original parade route down Grant Avenue and proceeds to the Flower Fair’s main stage on Washington Street below Grant Avenue with a ribbon cutting ceremony around 10:45am.

Lion dancing, Chinese giant puppets elaborately costumed and Chinese deities will be in Chinatown to help kick off the new year.

Then you can spend the day at the annual Flower Fair You will find over 80 booths and concessions where you can purchase new year’s flowers, plants, fruits and candies.
