Downtown San Francisco is about to get a new addition to its skyline. A 41-story, 544-foot mixed-use tower is coming to 530 Sansome Street in the Financial District, bringing offices, a five-star hotel, retail, and restaurants to a key corner near Jackson Square.

This will be one of the few completely new skyscrapers in the city in recent years. The tower is part of a public-private partnership with Related California and includes modern office space, up to 200 hotel rooms, and below-ground parking and bike storage.

The project also delivers a state-of-the-art, four-story fire station to replace Station 13 and a reimagined public plaza, all while contributing nearly $15 million to support affordable housing in the city. Funding for the fire station comes from hotel tax revenue, meaning no upfront cost to the city.

Construction will generate hundreds of jobs, with more than 1,600 permanent positions once the tower is complete. The city expects the development to create $13.5 million in annual revenue and $800 million in annual economic activity.

530 Sansome adds to ongoing efforts to bring more uses, jobs, and activity back to the Financial District.
