Get ready for another round of free outdoor concerts in the heart of San Francisco. Starting June 14, 2025 the city’s free concert series is back for its second year, bringing live music to downtown plazas all summer long.

The first show kicks off with Back 2 Baysics, a daytime event hosted by San Francisco’s own Dirtybird Records, taking place at Embarcadero Plaza.

This free concert series is a collaboration between the City of San Francisco, Another Planet Entertainment (the folks behind Outside Lands), and SF Rec & Park. It’s part of a larger effort to bring more life back to downtown by using public spaces for community events, especially after last year’s shows brought out tens of thousands of people and gave a boost to local businesses.

Concerts will once again pop up in some of SF’s most iconic public spots, including:

  • Embarcadero Plaza
  • Union Square
  • Civic Center Plaza

Last year’s lineup featured names like Portugal. The Man and up-and-coming local acts, with crowds filling plazas and foot traffic jumping well above average.

These free shows are part of a multi-year agreement with Another Planet Entertainment, which also allows a few ticketed concerts in Golden Gate Park following Outside Lands. In exchange, the city gets these free shows every summer through at least 2027.

So grab your picnic blanket, rally your crew, and stay tuned—more artist announcements and concert dates are expected soon.
