Which SF Bars & Restaurants Now Require Booster Shots

Updated 12/22/21 – Every Bay Area bar, restaurant or venue we’ve found that requires a Covid booster for going indoors

With Omicron spreading faster, it was only a matter of time until bars and restaurants started requiring booster shots instead of just proof of vaccine for entry.

So far as of 12/22/21 we’ve found only two restaurants with the booster requirement (Zuni Cafe and Cassava in SF) but it’s likely that more will follow.

Please note this is an evolving news story and details may change rapidly

The recommendations apply only to indoor dining/drinking (and does not affect outdoors – anyone is welcome to visit outdoors or in parklets).

Currently the city of San Francisco requires proof of full vaccine (1 shot of J&J or 2 shots of Moderna/Pfizer) and the city has not made any statement about requiring boosters. It is up to each individual bar owner to set their own policy whether or note vaccines are required.
