Duels, daggers and undying love. It’s all happening on the big screen at this year’s Opera at the Ballpark.

San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Giants invite you to join for an evening of Opera at the Ballpark this September. There, you’ll witness the most devastating love story of all time, “Romeo and Juliet,” starring Nadine Sierra and Bryan Hymel.

2019 Opera at the Ballpark
Saturday, September 21, 2019 | Simulcast begins at 7:30 pm
Oracle Park, SF
FREE, but an RSVP is required

Gates open at 5:30 pm for pre-registered fans

The free simulcast of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet will be transmitted in high definition live from the stage of the War Memorial Opera House to the new 71-foot high x 153-feet wide (2,160 pixel high x 4,672 pixel wide) Mitsubishi Electronic Diamond Vision Board in Oracle Park.

The newly installed model is twice the resolution and 50 feet wider and 20 feet higher than the former video-board. It is the third largest video-board in Major League Baseball and the largest movie screen in San Francisco.

Performance-quality audio combined with Oracle Park’s upgraded screen creates an enhanced open-air operatic experience for Bay Area audiences. Bring your friends and family for a front-row seat and enjoy garlic fries and show-stopping arias under the stars.

Full of “dramatic” and “emotional moments” (The Jerusalem Post), this French operatic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s beloved love story will be headlined by two of the most in-demand artists in the world, tenor Bryan Hymel and soprano Nadine Sierra as Romeo and Juliet.

Opera Length: The simulcast will last approximately 3 hours, 20 minutes, including one intermission, during which you can stretch, roam the ballpark, chat with friends or fellow fans or enjoy ballpark hot dogs and garlic fries (concession stands will be open for business).

Field Seating: Field access will be on a first-come, first-served basis and can be accessed through the Marina Gate. All gates open at 5:30 pm and seating throughout the stadium is on a first-come, first served basis. All guests will be required to pass through a metal detector and all bags are subject to search prior to entry.
