By - posted 5/28/2013 No Comment

Sadly, the SFMOMA is closing for over two years during major construction projects. But to celebrate the send-off, you’re invited to four free and festive days kicking off SFMOMA‘s expansion and their launch into off-site exhibitions and programs.

Free, but an RSVP is required for each day.

Festivities include a celebratory kickoff party, 24-hour live art variety show, all-night gallery access, Family Day, and more. Museum admission is free to all Thursday, May 30, through Sunday, June 2, 2013.

Sunday, June 2, 2013 will be SFMOMA’s final day open; then SFMOMA will be on the go with off-site exhibitions around the Bay Area while their building is transformed. SFMOMA is slated to reopen in early 2016.

  • Thursday, May 30, 10 am – 9:45 pm
  • Friday, May 31, 10 am – 5:45 pm
  • Saturday, June 1, 10 am to Sunday, June 2, 5:45 pm

Please Note: RSVP does not guarantee entry. Entry into the museum is dependent on capacity. Crowds and lines should be expected.

You RSVP will give you a chance to receive a limited-edition SFMOMA On the Go deluxe tote bag. Tote bags can be picked up on-site at the tote bag pickup table on Thursday, May 30, from 10 am to 4 pm, Friday, May 31, from 10 am to 5:45 pm, Saturday, June 1 from 10 am to 6 pm, or Sunday, June 2, from 10 am to 5 pm. Bag quantities are limited.
