Get Free Parking in SF’s Union Square Through the End of the Year
Thanks to SF Chronicle for sharing the news that to help lure holiday shoppers downtown, three city-owned garages near Union Square are offering free parking through the end of the year.
You can get free parking for up to two hours at three garages that are located within a two-block radius of Union Square. The free parking offer is expected to cost the city about $700,000 to $900,000 in lost revenue.
The parking lots include:
- Sutter-Stockton Garage at 444 Stockton Street
- Ellis-O’Farrell Garage at 123 O’Farrell Street
- Union Square Garage at 333 Post Street
There’s a combined 3,042 parking spots in the three lots. If you stick around past two hours, the hourly rates vary between $4-5.
We’ll be making parking free for up to two hours at City-owned parking garages around Union Square to make it easier for people to shop and enjoy the holiday season in the area.
