70,000 Japanese pop-culture fans take over SF for free two day music, fashion & dance festival | Sat & Sun

Japantown & New People hosts one of the country’s biggest J-Pop culture events of the year with the 2012 J-Pop Summit Festival – a two-day event taking place August 25 + 26, 2012 for about 70,000 people.

This one of a kind event will feature the best in modern Japanese films, fashion, music art, retail design and pop culture all weekend long. Enjoy everything from dance performances to anime exhibtions, as well as food trucks, specialty vendors and more.

  • Liz Lisa’s rose flower-inspired “Shibuya Girls Fashion Contest”  – Saturday, August 25th at 1:00pm on the Main Pagoda Stage at Peace Plaza.
  • Harajuku Fashion Show –  Saturday, August 25th at 3:00pm on the Main Pagoda Stage

Most of the general festival is free to attend – this includes the fashion shows and the live bands on both days. The only events that will cost will be the Evangelion Pop Up Museum ($5 entry), the Evangelion Real Escape Game ($25 to play), and the Vocalekt Visions Vocaloid dance event ($15).
