#LightsForLife: Home Xmas Lights Spread Cheer
People around the world are digging their holiday lights back out and putting them up as way to spread a little joy and positivity while we’re self-isolating during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Participants see the festive lights as way to lift spirits for themselves and for their neighbors who can enjoy them on a walk or drive through their neighborhood (yes, you can head outdoors for exercise and fresh air – just maintain a 6 foot distance from others).
It’s a cheery way for us to feel connected to each other while we shelter-in-pace. We think children who may be getting restless while we’re all stuck indoors will love getting out of the house to try to spot the lighting displays.
The #lightsforlife hashtag is gathering momentum. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter users are sharing their lighting displays and encouraging others to join in as a sign of hope.
Here’s some of our favorite displays and words of encouragement.
My mom thinks people should start putting up Christmas lights in their windows to remind each other that there is still life & light while we #StayTheFHome.
