Lindy in the Park is the longest-running Lindy Hop swing dance event in the San Francisco Bay Area. No longer a minor event, this full-grown institution, celebrates 20 years of free swing dancing in Golden Gate Park.

Lindy in the Park 20th Anniversary
Saturday, August 20, 2016 | 3-6 pm at Bandshell
Sunday, August 21, 2016 | 11 am-4 pm at JFK Drive

For 2016, it’s the 20th Anniversary, so this is a special two-day celebration.

Free Outdoor Live Music Swing Dance Party
– Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers
– Band Shell (between de Young and Cal Academy of Sciences), Golden Gate Park
– Saturday, August 20, 3-6 pm
Return to Lindy in the Park’s original location at the historic Spreckels’ Temple Of Music (Music Concourse Band Shell) in Golden Gate Park with San Francisco’s very own Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers playing in the authentic styles of the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s. So let’s turn back the clock and party like it’s 1996.

Anniversary Outdoor DJ Swing Dance Party & Potluck
– JFK Drive, Golden Gate Park (directions)
– Sunday, August 21, 11 am-4 pm
Continue the anniversary celebration at Lindy in the Park’s annual swing dance/potluck party located at the regular location, the south sidewalk of John F. Kennedy Drive between 8th and 10th Avenues, behind the de Young Museum. Bring main dishes, side dishes, salads, desserts, and drinks to share. Expect extended hours, a free beginner lesson (12:00-12:30 pm), food, and agroup photo at 2 pm.
