Thanks to Broke-Ass Stuart for letting us know that the beloved Specs’ Bar in North Beach will be reopening in “mid May.”

The 53-year-old bar at 12 William Saroyan Place, tucked away on an alley just off of Columbus Ave (across from City Lights), had been open periodically for to-go drinks and as a bottle shop during parts of the pandemic.

Earlier this week the bar, which opened in 1968, posted on Facebook that they will be announcing a soft reopening date within “a matter of weeks.”
