Want a dose of tranquility and peace? Now’s the perfect time to see nature’s most amazing light show right from the comfort of your warm home. Late winter and early spring are the best times for the aurora borealis.

Located at the Churchill Northern Studies Center in Churchill, Manitoba, this live cam is located directly underneath the aurora oval, one of the best places on earth to watch the aurora borealis, the spectacular atmospheric phenomenon better known as the Northern Lights.

Go to their live cam, streaming 24 hours a day, and enjoy one of nature’s most incredible phenomenons without having to brave the freezing cold.

The aurora exists no matter what time of day, but it’s much dimmer than sunlight, so it cannot be observed during the daylight hours. Since the Northern lights are only visible at night, why not make the most of this virtual wanderlust. Cozy up with some hot cocoa and a warm blanket, and stream the light show to your big screen TV.

Hey, in some ways it beats traveling all the way to the Arctic with only a slim chance of actually seeing them. Mother Nature is fickle and weather conditions vary, so check conditions and probability before settling in for the show. You may have to try again another night.
