Annual Golden Gate Park festival of yoga, folk dances and mediation

Peace in the Park festival brings together the diverse San Francisco and surrounding communities for a rejuvenating day of peaceful activities for all ages and backgrounds.

On August 24, 2013, the festival will feature local musicians and visual artists, Tai Chi, yoga; seminars, kids activities, and meditation. Performers include the Red Panda Acrobats, Gamelan Sekar Jaya Balinese Dance, Japanese Taiko drumming, Native American dancing and more.

At the Bandshell of Golden Gate Park, this event will demonstrate how peaceful we can be even while living in a fast-paced urban environment.

Stage Music
World music and dances on the main stage: Listen to classical music from the Far East, Latin America, and India. Watch folk dances from Mexico and Middle East.

Activities Pavilion
Fun and uplifting activities for kids and families. Making things, therapeutic yoga, Tai Chi, juggling, plus try out relaxation for kids of all ages to rise above worries and enter a world of calm and happiness.

Peace Exhibits
Engage with peace initiatives ranging from saving rain forests to youth cooperation circles to meditation experience to tree of blessings. Get involved with nonprofits doing global and local peace projects.
