Pinnacles National Park Closes Due to Flooding & Rockfalls
Thanks to KSBW for letting us know that Pinnacles National Park has had to close due to flooding and rockfalls over the roads caused by the latest “Atmospheric River” storm.
Pinnacles National Park announced the park closure on Facebook on Thursday, January 28, and has been providing updates on their page. They anticipate reopening by the weekend. Check Facebook for reopening information.
They have stated “updates will be posted as the roads clear and its safe to drive again.”
UPDATE: As of this morning on Friday, January 29, Pinnacles has stated “the park will be opening on the East side today, though the west side remains closed. Official park announcement coming shortly.”
Pinnacles National Park is still currently free. The NPS website states “Due to the current pandemic, the National Park Service has temporarily suspended the collection of all entrance fees.”
Please the featured photo was shared by the park. We don’t believe it snowed in the park from the recent storm; they didn’t mention it on their Facebook page.
