The Presidio Is Getting Its First Brewery Taproom
A new spot for craft beer, pizza, and Presidio views is on the way.
Berkeley’s popular Fieldwork Brewing Company is taking over the former Presidio Social Club space at 563 Ruger Street, bringing the first brewery taproom to the Presidio when it opens in early 2027. The historic restaurant, housed in a former Army barracks, closed in 2024 after nearly 20 years.
In addition to pouring Fieldwork’s craft beers, the new spot will feature a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar. The menu is expected to include pizza, wings, salads, and other favorites, with brunch also planned.
The Presidio location will be Fieldwork’s 11th in Northern California and follows the brewery’s continued expansion in San Francisco, including an upcoming taproom at Mission Rock. Renovations to the Presidio space are expected to be relatively light before the restaurant opens.
