San Jose Hosts Public Vigil for the VTA Victims (May 27)
In honor of the victims of today’s tragic mass shooting at the VTA Light Rail Yard, there will be a public vigil held at San Jose City Hall Plaza at 6 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Please note the vigil is May 27, not May 26 as was earlier listed.
Sadly, a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority employee shot and killed eight people at a VTA maintenance yard in San Jose on earlier this morning.
San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo announced the vigil this afternoon on Twitter.
Please join us tomorrow Thursday, May 27 at City Hall Plaza at 6:00p.m. for a vigil for the victims of the recent VTA shooting. This is a moment for us to come together and grieve after today’s horrific tragedy.
