Safeway is Hiring 2,000 Workers

Local Bay Area supermarket chain Safeway, based in Pleasanton, CA, is looking to immediately hire 2,000 new workers since stores have been inundated with shoppers and online orders in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
You can apply online for over 350 positions in California; however, many more positions may not be listed on the website yet. Available openings listed online include many positions in Supply Chain/Manufacturing, Information Technology, Grocery Works, Distribution Centers and Retail Operations.
According to SF Chronicle, “Most of the openings are available at more than 165 Bay Area locations, the company said.” The store is rearing up their in-store staff in the wake of the outbreak.
Stores include Safeway, Andronico’s, Lucky, and many others. In-store positions include cashier, clerks, deli, meat, bakery, produce, fuel stations and customer service departments. Safeway employee benefits include retirement, healthcare, associate discounts, paid training, flexible schedules, paid vacation and holidays and more.
Safeway is also hiring for delivery drivers and no commercial driver’s licenses are required.
