San Jose Converts Downtown Streets for Outdoor Dining

Thank you KRON4 for letting us know that San Jose restaurants expands outdoor dining with the closure of downtown streets

San Pedro Street between Santa Clara and St John are closed and other streets may follow to expand outdoor dining to help struggling restaurants.operate during the pandemic.

Barriers were put out on the streets Wednesday morning so lunch can be served on the street starting Wednesday afternoon. On Fridays, the road will be closed to expand the farmer’s market, allowing vendors to utilize the space.

San Jose’s “Al Fresco” dining program is currently scheduled untoil at least September enabling restaurants to serve more people and help customers feel safer with more space.
