It was a short, great ride. During the initial part of the shutdown, the 145-acre Presidio Golf Course was turned into a public park open for families, walkers and joggers.

Just announced on April 30th, the Presidio course will re-open for golf on May 4th with the state and city’s approval.

So the last day to visit the course as a park will likely May 3rd. Please note things may change and it may be closed to the public early. So if you do wish to go enjoy the course as a walker please contact the course first to make sure they are still open.

Interesting changes to the way the course will initially operate include no more than 1 person at a time in a golf cart, all rakes and ball-washers have been removed from the course, and the cups have been raised (presumably so you don’t have a bunch of people digging around in the hole for your ball) – when your ball hits the cup, the ball is considered “holed out”.
