SF Hosts 2023 Frida Kahlo Festival (July 8-23)

Frida Kahlo loved San Francisco, and Fiestas Fridas show how much we have come to love her in return, in our own unique style, of course. In the 10th year celebrating the inimitable painter (1907-1954), Fiestas Fridas features music, activities and numerous opportunities to demonstrate devotion.

July 8th – Pasion de Frida

Puerto Alegre – 546 Valencia St 11 am – 2 pm
¡Viva Frida! Bird Levy’s 15th annual Frida Kahlo Art Show celebrating the life and work of the iconic Mexican artist, featuring work of 35+ artists. RSVP here.

July 21st – Frida Kahlo Walking Tour of SF

CCSF Health Center – 50 Frida Kahlo Way – 10 am to 3 pm
We visit some of the most iconic Frida sites in SF!

Requirements:
Ability to walk SF streets and a few hills

One lyft/uber ride for first leg of the tour
Bring Lunch, Snacks and Water or Eat Tacos at TropiSueño Restaurant

TOUR BEGINS at 10 am Meet at CCSF Health Canter 50 Frida Kahlo Way (City College San Francisco)

July 22nd – Fiestas Fridas Coronation Walk (10th Anniversary)

Yerba Buena Gardens 750 Howard St. 1 pm – 3 pm

Yerba Buena Gardens and the Mexican Museum present the 10 Year anniversary of Fiestas Fridas. Wear a flower crown and a unibrow and stroll the catwalk with Frida. Music by Banda Sin Nombre.

July 22nd Coronation Walk FRIDAfter Party

Tropisueño 75 Yerba Buena Lane 3 to 6 pm
Come Drink and Be Merry in honor of Frida and her legendary parties at the Casa Azul! No host bar. Music by Rosa La Rumorosa

July 23rd – Mercadito Frida

5M Park 44 Mary Street 11 am – 3 pm
Community Arts Stabilization Trust hosts another edition of Mercadito Frida. Shop our FRIDArtists and Vendors for new Frida stuff. Latin Fusion Food by Banderas and Vegan food by Joyce’s Kitchen.
