SF May Close 42 Streets for Outdoor Dining

Thanks to SFGATE for letting us know that 42 San Francisco streets have been requested to be closed to traffic for outdoor dining.

As part of the city’s Shared Spaces program, restaurants and bars across San Francisco have filed requests for at least 42 street closures. Restaurants are requesting to add tables and chairs to the sidewalk in front of their business, and in some cases move into the parking spot outside.

According to San Francisco’s Department of Emergency Management (DEM), as of the beginning of July, there were 42 requests for full street closures across the city, but not all of these requests will be approved. The DEM warns, emphasizing that there’s “a process of internal review and public notification that must be followed.”
