SF Zoo’s Baby Penguins Graduate “Fish School”
They made it! Congrats to the six Magellanic chicks for graduating the San Francisco Zoo’s “Fish School” where they learned how to swim, eat whole fish, and socialize with their caretakers.
Now they can waddle their way to their home on Penguin Island during a scaled-down version of the zoo’s annual March of the Penguins event.
Download collectible cards featuring fun facts about each of the six chicks.
Due to the pandemic, SF Zoo was not able to host their traditional March of the Penguins for the public. But they are thrilled to announce that “Rookie” is the winning name for “Blue Band”. Better keep your eye out for him swimming around at Penguin Island.
The six new additions bring the total number of Magellanic penguins at SFZoo to 56 pengos.
