SF’s Bernal Heights Drive-In + Outdoor Movie Festival (Oct. 1-29)
Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema presents free screenings of diverse, local filmmakers’ works in neighborhood parks, playgrounds, and other community-friendly spaces to increase the exposure and recognition of local artists and to heighten appreciation by neighborhood and citywide residents while bringing the community together.
Enjoy free screenings of short films of all genres at a pop-up drive-in at Alemany Market Plaza and Precita Park.
Friday, Oct. 1: South Slope Cinema Drive In Movie Night
RSVP Required – Opening Night—South Slope Cinema finds us back at Alemany Market Plaza for a “pop-up drive-in” thanks to the wonderful folks at the Department of Real Estate.
- Line-up: Short films of all genres
- It’s free admission, but capacity is limited; therefore, we must require reservations for each vehicle and entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis
- Sound is broadcast via an FM station on your car or portable radio
- No entry to walk-ins or people on cycles
Saturday, Oct. 2: Under the Stars, Precita Park
You know the drill: Bring a picnic, a blanket, a low-back chair and dress for cool weather. No reservations required. Join us as we celebrate the filmmakers whose films we feature tonight. Music 5:30-7 pm, Films 7-9:30 pm – Precita Ave at Folsom Street

Friday, Oct. 29, 2021: Best of Bernal, Season Finale – Drive In Movie Night

RSVPs Required – RSVPs open on October 22The Best of Bernal Season Finale features the five award-winning films and filmmakers of the 2021 season. The evening begins with a video of the awards ceremony, where the season’s major sponsors present the awards to the winning filmmakers and the filmmakers say a few words about their film and the inspiration for it. Then the audience is treated to a viewing of the five films, which won awards
