Thanks to SF Gate for sharing the news that the 21-year old pub, The Phoenix Irish Bar & Restaurant, located at 811 Valencia Street in the Mission, is set to be demolished.

The 63-year-old building is being demolished to make way for the construction of a brand new six-story, mixed-use building. A closing date for the bar, which opened in 2001, has not been announced yet.

Plans were submitted for the project in 2018, but plans were stalled until this month. The city documents note the new building would have 18 tiny residential units occupying 5,000 square feet for residential use, and 540 square feet for a two-story commercial space, according to SF Yimby. The construction would likely take at least two years from groundbreaking until opening.
