Rasputin Music, which calls itself the largest independent chain of record stores in the San Francisco Bay Area is now a little smaller.  After closing its Powell Street store in 2016, Rasputin abruptly closed its Haight Street location this past weekend.

In the meantime, Rasputin is still going strong in Berkeley and Amoeba still has their location at Haight near Stanyan.

Founded as “Rasputin Records” in 1971 in Berkeley, Rasputin operates locations in Berkeley and three Central Valley cities of Modesto, Stockton and Fresno.
