Thanks to SF Gate for letting us know the sad news that one of SF’s most fun arcade bars, Coin-Op has shut down permanently.

Coin-Op, which was located at 508 4th Street and was an awesome 10,000 square foot space in SoMa that was transformed from a steel foundry into a two-story bar and game room with 40+ pinball and video games, plus a secret speakeasy (hidden behind a “busted” video game).

The venue shutdown at the beginning of the pandemic in mid-March, but never was able to reopen. Help the Coin-Op staff via GoFundMe

SF Gate reports that the building has been listed for sale.
