SF’s New Simpsons Inspired Pop Up Bar “Moe’z”
Thanks to 48 Hills for sharing the news that San Francisco has a new destination for fans of The Simpsons. Moe’z, a pop-up bar inspired by Moe’s Tavern, has opened in Lower Nob Hill. Located on Sutter Street, this bar offers an experience with references to the long-running animated series.
The exterior is designed to be recognizable to fans, while inside, visitors will find walls decorated with show references, including Bart’s detention chalkboard and a bush-wall inspired by Homer’s disappearing act. The decor aims to create a familiar atmosphere.
The drink menu features themed beverages. Behind the bar, Squishee machines serve frozen drinks, and patrons can order a keg-poured Duft Beer (not to be confused with the show’s signature Duff beer, so they can avoid copyright infringement). The cocktail menu includes drinks named after moments from the show, such as a highball inspired by Mr. Sparkle and a Flaming Moe.
The team behind Moe’z has experience with concept bars in the city. The bar, Summer Palace, has previously transformed into a Christmas-themed pop-up for winter and also a Twin Peaks inspired bar. The team is continuing to add new features to their latest pop up including a recreation of the Simpsons’ living room, arcade games, and a Love Tester machine.
Moe’z is part of a broader plan to develop a multi-bar space in the building, with more themed bars planned. The goal is to bring more activity to downtown San Francisco.
Moe’z is now open, offering visitors a place to enjoy a themed drink in a setting inspired by The Simpsons.
